Whitestone REIT is a New York Stock Exchange ("NYSE") listed real estate investment trust ("REIT") that owns, operates, and redevelops Community Centered Properties TM. Whitestone REIT is seeking a Building Engineer for the Dallas, Ft. Worth, McKinney, Frisco, and Plano areas. The Building Engineer is responsible for performing minor maintenance and repair tasks on MEP equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role involves conducting preventive maintenance inspections, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and completing repairs promptly. The Building Engineer also ensures the assigned properties upkeep and maintained to meet company standards and expectations of the property. The Building Engineer is also responsible for performing specific projects and tasks based on work orders. This role must have a great work ethic, with the capability to work under minimal supervision and consistently stay on track on all projects. This individual should be high energy and have a keen eye for maintaining and repairing all aspects of the assigned properties and the ability to problem solve the day-to-day issues as they arise. The individual must maintain a personal vehicle for reliable transportation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to perform repairs and maintenance on multiple properties in Dallas/Ft. Worth/McKinney/Frisco/Plano area Make minor repairs and adjustments on plumbing systems as needed Repair interior and exterior finishes and drywall of properties Repair minor electrical issues within properties Simple light fixture repairs and changing out lamps Touch-up paint maintenance and graffiti removal Basic locksmith tasks Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of properties and vacant spaces Pressure washing and window cleaning Maintain water pumps and fountains Inspect and monitor fire alarm panels and building life safety systems Inspect and monitor HVAC rooftop units HVAC systems maintenance and repair Inspect and monitor building roof systems removing debris as needed Manage time wisely and productively while working independently Able to complete tasks from start to finish Response to after-hour and weekend calls and emergency Complete assigned work orders timely and efficiently SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or G.E.D.; Active driver's license required with good driving record; Reliable transportation to travel from property to property; HVAC certification required; General electrical, plumbing, painting experience; Minimum of 5 years of general maintenance experience in a commercial environment required; Minimum of 5 years of general plumbing and electrical experience required; Ability to do physical requirements such as stooping, climbing, and ability to lift 25 lbs. or more; Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and complete reports, follow instructions; High emphasis on safety and compliance focus when on duty.
