THIS POSTING IS FOR SUBSTITUTE AND/OR LIMITED-TERM POSITIONS. This position is not eligible for benefits. The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting to add to the substitute/limited-term pool Registered Nurse for the Outdoor Education Program. Under the direction of the principal, oversees, maintains, and supervises the day-to-day operations of the health service program at an assigned outdoor school; performs highly skilled professional nursing services and first aid care to students and staff in an outdoor education school; performs related work. This position requires a combination of training and experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and abilities described in job description. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Certificates, Licenses, Credentials A current California Registered Nurse license is required and a copy must be attached to the online application. An original Registered Nurse license must be presented prior to appointment. Once employed, RNs are required to maintain their license. Possession of an American Red Cross CPR and First Aid/AED certificate. Valid California Driver's License. It is important to note to become a substitute/limited-term employee, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $77 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost that must be paid in the form of a money order or cashier's check). In addition, if you apply and are selected for a permanent position at any point there would be an additional $77 cost (currently) for fingerprinting as a permanent employee (taken out of your first regular paycheck).
