TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION DATA AND IEP COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS A valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement preferred. A Master's Degree preferred At least 10 years of successful teaching in the areas of special education or related services Effective interpersonal skills with the ability and initiative to plan, organize and implement programs related to special education Experience in educational applications related to computers and assistive technology Expertise in computer language used in special education programs REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES: Develops, coordinates, appraises, and revises the special education computer programs and manages the assistive devices Maintains expanded rosters, IEP rosters, evaluation rosters and keeps daily reports needed to meet guidelines Manages all components of SER, JCampus, and Insight Manages Child Count and MFP Designs calendars, spread sheets, and data markers for all SPED classes and programs Participates in local and state conferences and workshops, and disseminates information to district personnel Keeps informed of national, state, and local laws, and regulations related to SPED and technology use Manages inventory of all assistive technology Provides direct assistance to teachers and students related to SPED programs, computer programs and software, and curriculum Secures information on grants available for SPED Tracks students that enroll with IEPs and when they leave the district transfer records to new schools Design hand-outs, data sheets, information markers, etc for special education teachers Meets criteria for a Professional Growth Plan and follows the guidelines in the Parish Program of Professional Evaluation Assumes additional responsibilities assigned by the Director SPED TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 months EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluation in accordance with Board Policy
