Title: Procurement LeadLocation: Paramus, NJJob Type: Direct hireWork Schedule: At least 4 days in the office each week, can work 1 day from home. Our client is an EPC contractor specializing in the installation of utility and industrial process infrastructure including substations, power generation, industrial process facilities, and renewable fuel projects. Description: The Sr. Procurement Specialist is responsible for management and oversight of all activities associated with supplier and subcontractor prequalification, RFP solicitation, bid tab evaluations, contract terms and conditions negotiations, contract generation and expediting oversight. This position will work with the Procurement and Project Managers to maintain policies and procedures as related to subcontracting, purchasing, and expediting. In addition, this position will be responsible for coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to meet requirements to support projects schedules. Responsibilities:Understands and supports pursuit and project schedule requirementsPrepares the bidders list with input from the Project Manager and Procurement Manager, solicits pre-qualification information from suggested bidders, and analyzespresents final recommendationsEvaluates and determines MBEWBE requirements for each proposal and ensures good faith effort is made as appropriate (in concert with the Project Manager, Estimating Manager, and Procurement Manager)Prepares requests for proposals and coordinates the issuance of any additionsReceives proposals and prepares commercial evaluationsInclusion of necessary prime contract requirements in all contractsReviews, negotiates, and obtains final approval of any deviations from procurement policies and procedures andor project-specific terms and conditionsMaintains positive long-term relationships with vendors and subcontractorsExpedites equipment and materials to ensure on-time delivery per the project scheduleAdheres to internal standards, policies, and proceduresPerforms special projects and completes other duties as assigned or requestedRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, Supply Management, or relevant field8 years of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) experience within the Procurement spaceSpecific knowledge of substation and transmission equipmentPrior experience working with a T&D material vendors and subcontractorsPrior experience of negotiating contracts with subcontractors and vendorsPrior experience leading the procurement efforts for both the proposal and execution phases of T&D projectsPrior experience supporting estimating during the proposal phase of projectsPreferred Experience and Education10 years of Transmission & Distribution (T&D) experience within the Procurement spacePrior experience working with engineering teams and contractors to specify material and review bills of materialStrong vendor and subcontractor industry relationshipsSelf-starter who can work independently while supporting the needs of the teamExcellent communication skills (both written and verbal)Ability to communicate effectively to executive level managementCustomer service and effective time management skills
