Location: Onsite in San Diego, CAType: 9-Month ContractCompany Overview:We are working with a renowned Biotech Giant in San Diego to hire a Senior Automation Engineer for an exciting project. This onsite, 9-month contract role is ideal for a seasoned engineer looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Position Overview:As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing CAD drawings, preparing material quotes, and supporting critical automation initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful design, development, and verification of automation systems. Success in this role requires strong multitasking, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.Key Responsibilities:Design and create CAD drawings, electrical layouts, P&IDs, and process flows.Provide accurate material quotes for automation projects.Collaborate with cross-functional teams on design, development, and verification of automation systems.Perform verification and troubleshooting of equipment mechanics, electrical, pneumatics, and controls automation components.Conduct trade-off analysis of automation technology selection and provide troubleshooting.Manage multiple tasks and projects, ensuring timely follow-up and on-time deliverables with internal and external stakeholders.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.5-10 years of relevant experience in automation systems engineering, design, development, verification, onboarding, and validationqualification.Strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in automation systems and components, including servo-driven systems, robotics, controllers, and vision systems.Experience working in highly collaborative, cross-functional, and matrixed organizations.Prior experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and controls automation systems.Proficiency with PLC and HMI development software, troubleshooting network communications and topology.Experience with mechanical, electrical, andor software design is highly desired.Excellent technical writing, presentation, and communication skills.Strong project management skills, with the ability to establish tools and processes to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to a fast-paced environment while incorporating feedback.
