About the Job As a Flight Software Engineer, you'll be part of a team developing the complete software system for advanced aerospace vehicles and related ground infrastructure. Your role will involve contributing to the overall vehicle architecture, conducting performance and communication system analyses, and implementing guidance, navigation, and control algorithms into software that governs vehicle operations. You'll be actively engaged in the entire software development process, from initial design concepts to hardware-in-the-loop testing, on-vehicle implementation, and flight support.Responsibilities: Develop high-performance software for advanced aerospace vehicles capable of long-duration missions and in-orbit refuelling.Prioritise rapid development and testing cycles to expedite vehicle deployment.Actively participate in prototyping, integration, and troubleshooting of simulations, flight algorithms, and hardware.Implement software solutions to support the development and testing of avionics, propulsion, and other spacecraft systems.Collaborate with stakeholders to define and refine requirements, while proposing innovative solutions.Conduct rigorous design reviews, test readiness reviews, and flight readiness reviews to ensure technical excellence.Desired SkillsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant computer science or engineering discipline 3+ years of experience designing complex software that operates in spacecraft 3+ years of experience designing and implementing spacecraft flight softwareCapable of maintaining flexibility in direction under changing circumstances Experience with existing automation frameworks such as ROS, NASA cFS, or MAX Track record of delivering novel, excellent technical products Strong understanding of operating systems, data structures, networking protocols, communication standards, and computer architectures Understanding of modelling and simulation, and software development skills, particularly in CC++Python Proven system engineering and configuration management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills
