Through its global distribution network, the Company's products are sold in over 120 countries.Our growing company is searching for a Director, Packaging Engineering & Sourcing to join our team in New York, NY. This position will lead packaging development and sourcing initiatives for our fragrance portfolio, as well as oversee the development and execution of new packaging solutions. This position collaborates with internal cross-functional teams, external partners, and suppliers to ensure alignment and integration of packaging strategies and projects.This position is based in office from Mondays-Thursdays, and remote on Fridays.Responsibilities:Lead the Packaging Development and Sourcing team of direct reports responsible for all innovationnew launch and on-going value analysis and brand health initiatives across the brand portfolioProvides comprehensive feasibility and influence of each concept or package in terms of manufacturability, cost of goods, investments, and preliminary lead times relevant to each brandWorks with outside vendor and subcontracting partners to define specifications, design criteria, quality parameters, and expectations from component production through filling and assemblyManages long term contracts and agreements for tooling and capacity commitments alongside Supply Chain teamWorks with Marketing and Operations teams to execute and realize new strategic opportunities to the company portfolio while meeting target COGs, tooling budgets, and supply chain strategiesResponsible for recommendation of sourcing and supply chain strategy within a global portfolio of vendors to the leadership teamEvaluates risks and develop clear mitigation plans to leadership teamDrives innovation by presenting new packaging concepts, technologies, and market trends both within and outside of the industrySupports on-going business through vendor relationships in support of Material Planning team to ensure component availability and stock coverageRequired EducationExperience:BS degree in Package Engineering or related fieldMinimum 8+ years in the beauty industry, with proven innovation development experience in fragrance categoriesRequired Qualifications:Technical competency in analysis of geometric objects in 2D3D, including understanding of clearances, fit and finish of packaging components and subcomponentsComprehensive knowledge of materials used in the construction and manufacturing of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging, including knowledge of decorating techniques and materials.
