Wireless Construction ManagerLocations: Chicago, IL, Tampa, FL and Detroit, MISalary: Up to $95,000yrJob Summary:The Construction Manager will manager daily efforts of technicians and subcontractors for installation, maintenance, and testing of wireless communications systems. Will be responsible for overseeing all activities through design, building, and testing of networks for assigned projects. Heavy field work is expected at approximately 95% within assigned market.Responsibilities:Serving as jobsite representative for the carrierPrior Verizon experience is required including familiarity with internal tools such as FuzeMacro, Tower or rooftop experienceAssist in identifying and qualifying necessary subcontractors for the project, including all site and building trades.Coordinate with utility companies for services and infrastructure, focusing on schedule and cost management.Develop initial project-specific cost estimates and lead budget management for various project components.Monitor schedule performance and ensure quality workmanship from contractors and in-house technicians.Collaborate with contractors, architects, civil engineers, and consultants to create site-specific value engineering options.Review change proposals, requests for information, supplemental instructions, and other contract documentation to protect the carrier's interests.Review and approve contractor payment requests.Attend local meetings, approval sessions, and conferences on behalf of the carrier, documenting and addressing relevant items.Maintain relationships and serve as the carrier's liaison for Federal, State, and Municipal matters, including permitting and inspection requirements.Review tenant leases and obligations to ensure compliance while controlling project costs.Coordinate with tenant design and construction personnel for accuracy in developing tenant documents.Act as an information resource by coordinating tenant work, participating in meetings, resolving disputes, and managing project punch lists and close-out activities.Experience and Education:Minimum 5 years of directly related leadership experience with wireless construction of macro, rooftop, small cell, and microwave networksPrior Verizon experience is requiredStrong consultative, organizational, and communication skillsPrevious site management experience as well as experience maintaining a good relationship with the client and suppliersHands-on experience with directing the activities of contractors and crews for mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural construction in an industrial settingAbility to read engineering drawings mapsProficiency with MS Word, Excel, and ProjectAdditional Information:This is a 6-month contract to hire positionCompany vehicle and gas card will be provided, clean driving record requiredMust be able to work for any US employer without sponsorship by NextGen or any other party now or at any time in the future
