Database Architect

PRIMARY PURPOSE:The Database Developer is responsible for the overall design and development of databases that underly the business applications. The primary focus will be on business intelligence applications; but will also include other business-critical applications. Working with our DBA team, application developers, business analysts, and end users to understand their needs; you will build be responsible for database design and implementation. The Database Developer will also assist in performance tuning and troubleshooting issues related to the databases.PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Works with the DBA team, application developers, business analysts and end users to understand needs and recommend appropriate solutions.Designs and implements databases including tables, views, stored procedures and other database objects.Troubleshoots issues with data andor performance and recommends solutions.Serves as liaison between the application team and the DBA support plies with corporate change management processes.Assists with data integration work.At times, assists with ETL andor report development.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:7-10 years demonstrated relational database development experience (ie. Tables, views, stored procedures, queries, etc.).5-7 years demonstrated experience designingmodeling relational and analytical databases.5-7 years demonstrated experience designing and developing databases in a Business IntelligenceData Warehouse environment5-7 years designing and developing MS SQL Server databases.Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communications.Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles (waterfall, iterative, agile, etc.).Experience with Erwin Data Modeling softwareExperience with Modern Databasestorage technologies (Azure, Data Lake, NoSQL, etc.) is a plus.Experience modeling andor writing reports in PowerBI is a plus.Experience with ETL technologies is a plus.Experience with IBM DB2 is a plus.
