Job Title: Investment Banking AssociateLocation: Chicago, New York, San Francisco, San Diego, or HoustonAbout the Role: Marathon Capital is looking for an Associate Investment Banker to join our team. As an Associate, individuals will support the firm's clean energy investment banking and financial advisory efforts, lead junior banker workstreams, and work alongside senior bankers in deal origination, execution, distribution, and closing activities. Associates will gain significant experience in key aspects of the clean energy and investment banking industries, including building financial models, conducting industry research, and creating marketing materials.Key Responsibilities: Conduct financial analysis and create detailed financial models in support of valuation and pro forma analysis of clients' businesses, projects, and acquisition targetsLead and manage junior banker workstreams in support of firm mandatesDevelop sector expertise in renewable and conventional power generation, low carbon molecules, power and utilities, climate technology, and infrastructureAssess strengths and risks of client positioning as well as perform due diligence on clients and acquisition candidatesSupport capital raise and M&A processes by preparing offering materials and distribution listsPursue business development initiatives to further enhance the firm's competitive positionWork directly with senior-level bankers in a leading clean energy investment banking firmSkills & Qualifications:Possess a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, sustainable energy, or a closely related field with 3+ years of experience, andor graduated from a top-tier MBA programCritical thinking skillsHighly motivated & proactiveExperience in investment bankingRobust analytical skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to simultaneously manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environmentClose attention to detail and the ability to work towards specified timelinesStrong financial modeling and advanced Microsoft Excel skillsKnowledge of or interest in the renewable and conventional power generation, energy storage, low carbon molecules, power and utilities, climate technology, or energy infrastructure sectors (a plus)About Marathon:Marathon Capital is the largest independent investment bank dedicated to servicing the clean economy.
