Job Title: Grossing Technologist Job Specialty: Clinical Laboratory Job Duration: Permanent Position Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 80 hours per pay period Experience: 1+ years of grossing experience preferred License: Current NYS license as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Histotechnologist (HTL) Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Bachelor's degree in Science Job Description: - Responsible for the accurate gross description, dissection, and processing of all biopsies and tissue specimens.- Work under the direct supervision of a Pathologist and/or Pathology Supervisor.- Participate in limited technical activities within the Pathology department.- Perform tasks such as accessioning, staining, cover slipping, and routine maintenance.- Handle cytology specimen preparation as needed.- Adhere to established protocols and procedures to ensure quality and safety standards are met.- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and efficiency in the laboratory.
