Spacecraft Operations, Lead Associate Job Locations US-VA-Chantilly Requisition ID Position Category Aviation Systems Clearance Top Secret/SCI w/Poly Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Navigator and Mission Planner to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of aviation missions by providing expert navigation support and comprehensive mission planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation, navigation technologies, and operational planning for DoD or similar. Examples of duties include but not limited to: Mission Planning: Develop and coordinate detailed flight plans, including route optimization, fuel calculations, and risk assessments to support mission objectives. Navigation Expertise: Utilize advanced navigation systems and technologies to ensure accurate and efficient routing for various aviation missions. Data Analysis: Analyze geographic and operational data to inform mission planning and execution, including weather patterns, airspace restrictions, and potential hazards. Collaboration: Work closely with pilots, air traffic control, and other stakeholders to ensure mission feasibility and safety. Compliance: Ensure all mission plans comply with relevant government regulations, policies, and safety protocols. Training and Support: Provide training and support to team members on navigation tools and mission planning processes. Reporting: Maintain detailed records of mission plans, outcomes, and lessons learned for continuous improvement and compliance purposes. Qualifications Required Skills: Education: Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Geography, or a related field. 8 years' experience in lieu of degree Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation navigation, mission planning, or related roles, preferably within a government or military context. Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of navigation systems, flight planning software, and geographic information systems (GIS). Knowledge: Strong understanding of aviation regulations, airspace management, and mission planning best practices. Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make inf d Qualifications: Experience with Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) operations and planning. Certification in aviation management, navigation, or related fields. Familiarity with military operations and protocols. Experience and Education: Prior customer experience TS/SCI with polygraph 5 years as a Navigator and Mission Planner Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
