Position Title: Athletics Marketing Manager Position Type: Full time Location: Kenneth Langone Athletics & Recreation Center (KLARC) Categories: Staff Exempt Job Summary: Bucknell University is seeking an Athletics Marketing Manager who will creatively promote Bucknell Athletics' 27 teams and 750-plus student-athletes. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation & Strategic Advancement, this position will strategically utilize communication, marketing and fan engagement experiences to support the department's overall fundraising and ticketing goals. Job Duties: Essential Functions: Develop and Oversee Digital Campaigns Manage the department's social media strategy and implementation with a keen focus on the timing and execution of initiatives Collaborate with the department's Graphic Designer and External team to continually elevate the Bucknell Athletics brand through video, photography, and social media Manage digital assets and measure effectiveness of digital initiatives using analytics Travel to select men's and women's basketball, football, and postseason competitions to highlight the success of Bison student-athletes Fan Engagement Support the development and implementation of initiatives to increase fan and student attendance and engagement at athletic events; specifically for men's & women's basketball, football, and postseason competition, while working closely with Student Affairs (Greek Life, International Student Resources, Resident Life) and the Campus Box Office Support special departmental events and initiatives including but not limited to department e-blasts, Bison Club events, season ticket holder events, postseason ceremonies Assist with staffing game day operations Marketing In coordination with the Director of the Bison Club and the External / Game Operations teams, help support the following: Facilitate marketing and promotional efforts for men's and women's basketball, football, and postseason competition including facilitating meetings with coaches and other departments in order to strategize and enhance the game day environment Effectively oversee game day execution of established marketing plan, including but not limited to, creating game entertainment scripts, promotions, giveaways, crowd engagement, and pregame/postgame constituent activities for men's & women's basketball and football Collaborate with department's multimedia rights holder, Bucknell Sports Properties (Learfield), to develop entertaining in-game promotions and activation of sponsorships Direct gameday entertainment groups and special performers for men's & women's basketball, football, and postseason competition which may perform during pregame, in-game, and/or postgame (color guard/national anthem; cheer/dance squads including mascot; pep band; halftime performers and special recognition ceremonies) and manage in-game music and live remotes Administration Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive and effective digital initiatives Performs other duties and/or jobs deemed necessary for the functioning and success of the External team, under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation & Strategic Advancement Diversity & Inclusion All Athletics staff members are expected to contribute to Bucknell's commitment to diversity and inclusion. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree This position will require a flexible work schedule and extended hours, including but not limited to, working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays in addition to traditional business hours Preferred Qualifications Master's degree Two (2) years of experience in athletic events, operations, marketing, or promotions Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills Strong attention to detail with ability to create and maintain very specific timelines Ability or willingness to learn to design marketing materials; proficient in use of Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite Assertive, outgoing, hard-working, resourceful, as well as an independent thinker Job Exempt: Yes Salary Range: 44,600.00-55,750.00 The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
