Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of surgical patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality preoperative care, manage surgical instruments and equipment, and maintain a sterile environment. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in facilitating successful surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities: Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to ensure patients are prepared for surgery, addressing any concerns or medical history issues. Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing necessary equipment and supplies. Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressing any concerns or changes in the patient's condition promptly. Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, including proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with preoperative and postoperative education to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans. Documentation: Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth flow of surgical procedures. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgery, including code situations, while maintaining composure and following established protocols. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies promptly. Qualifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of practice Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques BLS and ACLS certification required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package. OR Circulate/Pre-Op/PACU RN 13 week assignment Sceduled 40 hrs, guaranteed 36 8 hr days, 6:30a-2p (may have to work a little later based upon case load), Mon-Fri with some call coverage on the weekends AHA BLS & AHA ACLs required, CNOR preferred CO or multi-state license 3 yrs of experience required Must have experience in all 3 areas: OR Circulator, Pre-Op, & PACU 10/21 start
