Job Description Job Title: Nurse Educator Manager Department: Nursing / Long-Term Care Reports To: Director of Nursing / Clinical Operations Manager Position Summary: The Nurse Educator Manager plays a vital role in fostering the growth and development of nursing staff within the community. This leadership position is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing nursing education programs that ensure the team is equipped with the latest knowledge and best practices in patient care. As the Nurse Educator Manager, you will guide and mentor nursing staff, ensuring continuous professional development and maintaining the highest quality standards of care. Key Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Educational Programs: Create and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires and ongoing education for nursing staff, including clinical skills, patient care protocols, and regulatory compliance. Monitor and Evaluate Staff Performance: Conduct regular assessments of nursing staff competencies and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement. Mentorship and Leadership: Serve as a role model and mentor to the nursing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional growth. Compliance and Regulatory Training: Ensure that nursing staff are well-versed in regulatory standards and long-term care requirements, including infection control, documentation standards, and resident rights. Coordinate Clinical Orientation: Facilitate a thorough orientation program for newly hired nurses, ensuring they understand facility policies, clinical procedures, and best practices in long-term care. Quality Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with management to identify areas for improvement in patient care, and lead the nursing team in quality improvement projects and initiatives. Stay Current on Best Practices: Continuously research and implement the latest evidence-based practices in long-term care nursing and nursing education. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, staff progress, and performance evaluations. Prepare reports as required by facility leadership and regulatory bodies. Qualifications: Active RN or LPN License Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience Proven leadership experience in a nursing capacity, with a track record of successfully leading, training, or mentoring nursing teams. Experience in Long-Term Care Nursing is required, with an in-depth understanding of the unique needs and challenges in this setting. Strong communication and teaching skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively to different audiences. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple priorities, education programs, and reporting requirements. Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities. Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Nursing Education (e.g., CNE) or similar credentials. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and nursing documentation processes. Familiarity with quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) processes.
