Job Description Exciting opportunity at MSK: Join our team as a Senior Development Officer, Major Gifts! We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to lead efforts in securing significant contributions to MSK. In this role, you will develop and execute a strategic plan aimed at achieving fundraising goals while nurturing the long-term growth of our Development program. If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: Qualify and cultivate major giving level prospects with the intention to establish a relationship that will result in a gift of at least $500,000 to $5M. Work closely with key faculty, clinicians, scientists and volunteers to identify gift opportunities, establish relationships with grateful patients and friends, and execute cultivation/solicitation strategies. Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other development teams, such as donor engagement, prospect management, development marketing and communications, and others to maximize gift potential, and to help achieve the department's overarching goals. Assist with other duties as assigned by direct manager and team leadership. Key Qualifications: At least 7 years of experience in fundraising/development. Core Skills: Self-motivated with strong drive to think creatively, navigate through complex circumstances, and close impactful gifts supporting MSK's mission. Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across all levels in a confident, professional manner. Ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. Critical thinking and problem-solving to ensure unforeseen issues are handled appropriately and resolved in a timely fashion. Agility to pivot between priorities as needed.
