FINANCIAL REPORTING MANAGER NYC Private Equity - Investment Management Firm J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an experienced and highly motivated FINANCE REPORTING MANAGER, at a prominent NYC Private Equity - Investment Manager. The Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for managing the financial reporting processes for Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) owned their investment management firm. The SPVs primarily hold long-lived assets for lease, and their financial results must adhere to public company standards as mandated by the SEC. This role requires oversight of third-party accountants and ensures the accuracy and compliance of financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial reporting, a keen understanding of SEC regulations, and the ability to manage multiple SPVs effectively. Key Responsibilities : Financial Reporting: Operating Accounting Experience : demonstrated experience with the oversight, preparation, and review of financial statements for SPVs engaged in the leasing of long-term logistics assets. Audit & SEC/Statutory Reporting Experience (10k / 10Q) : demonstrated experience preparing financials in support of audited financial and in preparation of SEC filings. Complex Accounting Experience: demonstrated experience with accounting for consolidation / combination of entities under common control including intercompany transaction, eliminations & consolidating entries Vendor Management Experience : demonstrated managing external vendors providing accounting and other financial support related to SPV activity duties include: Manage relationships with third-party accountants for certain SPVs. Review and approve the financial reports prepared by third-party accountants. Review and approve reports to lenders Ensure third-party accountants adhere to the required financial reporting standards and timelines. Team Collaboration and Leadership: Coordinate with internal finance teams, auditors, and other stakeholders. Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members. Lead initiatives to improve financial reporting processes and systems. The ideal candidate would have a background including : Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting & financial reporting Experience managing financial reporting for SPVs or similar entities. In-depth knowledge of audit & SEC reporting requirements and public company standards. Skills: Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and SEC regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy. Education: Strong academic record and a bachelor's or higher degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable. Estimated base salary range for this position is: $150,000-$200,000. Employees may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
