Your daily contributions impact the creation of our delicious, world class dessert products. The Production Shift Manager directs production activity for all areas of the plant. He/she will manage and prioritize multiple programs to maximize value and to meet company Safety, People, Delivery, Service, Quality, 5S, Engagement and Cost objectives for a three shift, seven day a week operation. Here's more of what you'll get to do: Lead the production operation to meet company safety, people, delivery, service, quality, and cost objectives to provide value. Develop and implement new methods, procedures, and systems to improve production performance. Use good business sense and judgement to manage the appropriate staffing levels for the plant. Uses performance feedback information based on standard line speeds and productivity rates to optimize work group productivity and labor efficiency. Exercise critical thinking to manage material usage to ensure minimal waste, and maximum yield while maintaining strict adherence to formulations and specifications. Develop and implement new methods, procedures, and systems to improve cost performance. Provide direction and strong communication with the team to ensure overall compliance with GMP's, Quality standards, housekeeping and sanitation standards. Maintain a 900 "SUPERIOR" score or better for AIB sanitation inspections. Collaborate with Quality to ensure both Production and Quality are working together and providing value. Manage the team and prioritize multiple programs to ensure the shift operation is compliant with all applicable safety laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies, procedures and standards. Mentor, coach and provide corrective action based on company policies and procedures. Oversee employee performance by actively monitoring project goals, recognizing and rewarding positive contributions, and exercising the company's progressive discipline policies when applicable. Train, develop and monitor employees to support key performance goals for the company, as well as providing a satisfying and rewarding work environment for employees. Train and mentor staff to maintain a fair and professional work environment that focuses on the business objectives, but also balances quality of work- life factors for employees. Ensures that dignity and respect are shown to all team members. Attends and participates in all required meetings. Communicate on a regular basis, all pertinent information to team members and actively strategizes on a regular basis to create continuous alignment of purpose and scope. What we require: 6-8 years of work-related experience in a food production environment with management experience. Lead by example. Reflect the leadership principles expected of all Bakery leaders. Experience in Manufacturing with strategic responsibility. Experience with increasing responsibilities including managing P/L. Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve high standards and accomplish set goals. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written. Ability to analyze market trends. Ability to drive results. What we prefer: Bi-lingual (English and Spanish). Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or related field with advanced degree.
