Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER Biweekly Hours: 80.00 Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm The MetroHealth System is redefining health care by going beyond medical treatment to improve the foundations of community health and well-being: affordable housing, a cleaner environment, economic opportunity and access to fresh food, convenient transportation, legal help and other services. Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County's safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers. Summary: Installs/repairs/inspects/tests/calibrates electronic equipment, nurse call, pneumatic tube system, fire alarm, and HUGS (infant security) for proper function/conformance to safety standards at all MetroHealth facilities. Qualifications: Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Meets one of the following: • Possess an Ohio Electrical Contractor's License through the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB). • Possess an Electrical Journeyman's License. • Associates Degree in a related field. • Documented 8 years of commercial or industrial electrician experience. 4 years of documented commercial or industrial electrician experience. Possess a current Fire Alarm Systems certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), or a current Fire Protection License for the State of Ohio. Experience repairing electronic equipment, including nurse call systems, fire alarm, and pneumatic tube systems. Possess a current, valid Driver's License. Ability to read and utilize blue prints. Solid problem solving skills, and able to use sound judgment. Good interpersonal skills. Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and software systems associated with electronics systems (i.e. HUGS, pneumatic tubes, etc.). Basic math skills. Ability to follow directions. Ability to work independently/with minimal supervision, or as part of a team. Willing and able to adjust from the standard work schedule as needed for operational coverage, including days that are not normally worked, and at locations not normally assigned. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Associates Degree in Electronics or a related field. Prior Healthcare industry experience. Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to climb intermittently during the day. Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds. Ability to lift 10-40 pounds. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
