Responsible for targeted process optimization via planning, implementing, and maintaining capable and stable manufacturing processes as they relate to safety, quality, production efficiency, and product development. Will closely interact with all functions (safety, quality, production, maintenance, and supply chain) to support plant strategies and meet plant goals. Must have desire and demonstrated ability to advance in technical expertise, production knowledge, and leadership skills for future responsibility and advancement with Loparex. JOBS SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Plastics, or Polymer Technology or in a related field preferred with 3-5 years related experience in a technical position in plastics manufacturing environment or equivalent experience. Experienced in Design of Experiments to optimize Quality and Productivity. Hands on working knowledge of blown film extrusion. Experience with release film, silicone coating, and slitting operations is preferred. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Liaison between Operations, Quality, Plant Technology, as well as Loparex's R&D to ensure optimal quality and productivity are being met on Malvern process lines. Support the development of applicable Operator training processes and documentation and ensure all Job Instructions, Recipes, and Processes are followed in the operation for each Product. Work with Quality and Operations to establish Machine Process Capabilities by Product to optimize efficiency, productivity, and product quality. Support the Quality, Application Technology and the Commercial Team to establish appropriate Internal and External (Customer) Product Specifications that fall within established machine capabilities. Responsible for the planning, communication, setup and preparation, execution, testing, and follow-up reporting on new trials. Work with Quality and Plant Technology to investigate and resolve Customer concerns or complaints and support the implementation of any needed Root Cause and Corrective Action analysis. Investigate and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and raw materials. Extensive knowledge of safe workplace practices, standard operating procedures and conditions. Experienced leader with a proactive approach to problem solving and team building. Able to work independently or in a group, self-directed, and self-motivated. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to instruct employees one on one and in a group setting. Computer literate. MS Office required. Experience with industrial ERP systems, preferably SAP. Statistical analysis including Process Capability (Ppk, Cpk etc..) and data trend analysis. Knowledge of MiniTab or equivalent statistical software. Continuous improvement implementation and sustainability; Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus.
