Posting Identification Number 41822 Position Overview The Division of Mental Health is seeking to hire an Office Associate for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to provide complex and confidential clerical services for the professional and paraprofessional staff on the forensic living unit. Scans and names a wide variety of material that are stored to the public drive such as correspondence, reports, treatment plans, etc. requiring the use of medical, legal, and psychological terminology. Keyboards Medical Petitions, confidential and complex reports, letters, treatment summaries. Establishes, updates, purges, and maintains confidential files for each patient on a forensic living unit. Tracks information on each patient such as timeliness and legalities of materials received, completed, and distributed. Gathers and organizes information for report preparation. Essential Functions Provides complex and confidential clerical services for the professional and paraprofessional staff on the forensic living unit. Establishes, updates, purges, and maintains confidential files for each patient on a forensic living unit. Tracks information on each patient such as timeliness and legalities of materials received, completed, and distributed. Gathers and organizes information for report preparation. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience. Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires ability to retrieve files, update complex treatment plan files and to collate materials, staple and transport light/moderate loads up to 15 lbs Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
