This Opportunity WSP is seeking an Early Career Civil Engineer for our Central New England Operations working out of our Chelmsford, MA, Boston, MA or Merrimack, NH office . The work will involve engineering design, preparing feasibility studies, and construction support completed under the guidance of senior staff. WSP's New England Operations is a multi-disciplinary science/engineering team of 250+ staff that offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects for a wide range of clients throughout the US. Take part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of renewable energy projects in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, design, concept development, and construction of solar arrays. Generate accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned project. Your Impact This position offers the opportunity to work with a large and diverse team of design engineers to address complex engineering challenges executing the following roles/responsibilities: Perform engineering tasks related to drainage and stormwater, and site civil to support solar development projects. Prepare reports and coordinate support activities, including plan production and drafting report text or comment responses. Prepare permit applications. Prepare construction level drawings in AutoCAD under the supervision of senior engineers. Independently complete specific smaller assignments with minimal supervision and coordinate with other staff. Work collaboratively with other engineers and scientists on projects. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Perform construction oversight. Conduct construction closeout activities including final inspections, completion of punch lists, record drawings, and contract closeout. Overtime required, as needed. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. 0-1 years of engineering/consulting experience with a focus on civil site design. Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail. Strong computer skills and organizational abilities. Ability and willingness to travel to project sites. Anticipated travel expected to be less than 30% overnight travel; however, extended travel up to four weeks is possible. Adaptability and willingness to adjust to client needs. Must pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
