PRN Pharmacy Technician The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for maintaining all unit-dose medications required for daily dispensing out of Omnicell automation equipment. This role will prepare and maintain the automation equipment for daily use, perform advanced equipment troubleshooting, maintain optimal medication inventory levels, and review/maintain reports. The Pharmacy Technician will engage with various levels of customer service by identifying and addressing customer concerns, reporting to the Pharmacy Services Manager. Responsibilities Perform automation tasks in an error-free manner, consistent with prescribed guidelines. Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications. Identify and order medications to ensure optimal medication inventory levels. Perform cleaning, maintenance, and optimization of automation equipment as required. Monitor and order consumable supplies necessary for equipment operation. Perform advanced troubleshooting and prescribed maintenance of automation equipment; report unresolved issues to the TAC. Maintain clear communication with the Pharmacy Services Manager and customers to proactively identify and resolve issues. Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by providing customer-focused support, acting as a liaison between Omnicell (OMCL) and the customer to address concerns. Conduct orientation and training for per diem employees, ensuring compliance with all required documents, procedures, and policies. Promote customer product ownership and satisfaction by serving as a skilled resource or SME, providing on-site or remote support. Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses, including timekeeping, per diem employees, and consumable supplies. Comply with the procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the customer facility. Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines. Serve as a resource or SME for the OMCL team, providing training or assistance on-site or remotely to ensure optimal workflow. Required Knowledge and Skills Strong organizational skills; accurate, reliable, and efficient. Demonstrated customer-facing skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work with mechanical equipment. Proficiency in computer hardware and PC Windows. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Current State Board of Pharmacy license/registration. Two years of experience in a related field. Working knowledge of pharmacy automation. Preferred Knowledge and Skills PTCB or ExCPT Certification. Advanced troubleshooting skills with automation devices. Expertise as an SME for the Pharmacy Services department. Proficiency in PPE use and hand hygiene techniques. Knowledge of sterile environment requirements. Understanding of the safe handling of hazardous medications. Work Conditions Pharmacy environment. Capable of standing for several hours at a time. Potential exposure to hazardous drugs. Ability to lift 25-30 lbs. Compensation will vary based on region.
