Role description: Arcadis is seeking a Principal Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer - Solids Handling and Biogas/RNG focused to join our growing Resilience Water team. The ideal candidate may sit in or near any of the locations posted with Philadelphia, PA being preferred. As a Principal Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge to execute water and wastewater treatment design & construction engineering activities. You will also manage design teams and mentor junior engineers. You will be a critical member of our team and be expected to support performance of the Philadelphia office and engagement with national team. Role accountabilities: This role will lead and/or participate in client development activities, assessing potentials, assisting with position and capture strategies, and proposal and presentation efforts for water/wastewater design projects. In addition, working with Area Leader(s) and client Account Leader(s) to develop project scopes and fee estimates, setting the best stage for profitable delivery, managing risk, identifying project staff, and related activities. Other responsibilities include: Lead projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants, solids handling facilities, biogas and RNG facilities, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and handling construction oversight/administration. Manage a range of projects for various clients in the region. Responsibilities will include managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, and leading project teams to meet the project deliverables. Work directly, when assigned, with clients to determine needs and provide solutions. Support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers & design/drafting technical staff. Coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams. Support the development of small to large design projects from inception to completion. Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards. Travel, as needed, for client meetings, project site visits, etc. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field. 10 years of related industry experience in the water/wastewater field. PE License in Pennsylvania and/or in other nearby states (or ability to obtain PA PE within 6 months). Key Skills and Attributes : Flexible to work with different project teams present locally and across remote offices. Self-motivated in improving team and personal performance. Preferred Qualifications : Master's Degree in Engineering. 15+ years of industry-related experience.
