Salary: $72,602.22 - $107,778.44 Annually Location : Goodyear, AZ Job Type: Full-Time Job Number: FY Division: ITS-Information & Technology Services Department Department: Information Technology Opening Date: 10/07/2024 Closing Date: 10/21/2024 5:00 PM Arizona FLSA: Exempt Job Description Summary The Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server, software, and telephony systems. This role ensures that the company's IT infrastructure, including physical and virtual environments, runs efficiently, securely, and aligns with industry best practices. The Infrastructure Administrator will have a strong background in managing both on-premise and cloud-based systems, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to support a variety of IT services, including telephony and DNS management. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Administrator with a deep understanding of enterprise-level IT infrastructure, exceptional troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing and optimizing complex environments, with a focus on performance, security, and scalability. The Ideal candidate will have experience with administration and support of critical systems, including Nutanix hyperconverged infrastructure, Microsoft Entra, Office 365, Tanium endpoint management, Rubrik backup solutions, DNS services, and CallTower unified communications. The ideal candidate's expertise in these areas will ensure seamless operation, high availability, and the continuous improvement of our IT services. Essential Functions This information is intended to be descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position. The following functions do not identify all duties performed by the incumbent. Other duties and responsibilities will be performed as assigned. System Administration: Install, configure, and maintain server systems and telephony infrastructure. Manage Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, and group policies. Monitor and optimize performance, capacity, and availability of systems. Perform regular system updates, patch management, and backups. Telephony & DNS Support: Maintain and troubleshoot telephony systems, ensuring high availability and performance. Configure and manage DNS services, including DNS zones and records. Inventory and Asset Management: Maintain inventory of physical servers, virtual servers, and IT appliances. Ensure all assets are documented and tracked for lifecycle management. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain IT security policies and procedures. Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis. Ensure systems are compliant with relevant standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.). User Support: Provide Tier 2/3 support for internal users, including troubleshooting server, software, and telephony issues. Manage service requests and incidents, resolving issues in a timely manner. Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides. Cloud & Virtualization: Support cloud-based services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Office 365). Manage and monitor virtual environments using Nutanix. Provision, configure, and manage cloud and virtual resources. Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and maintain backup solutions for critical systems and data. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures. Project Support: Assist in the planning and execution of IT infrastructure projects. Collaborate with IT teams to improve systems performance and reliability. Requirements Formal Education/Knowledge: Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with a two year associate's degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training. Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a related field. Certifications and Other Requirements: Valid Driver's License. Ability to meet the criminal background regulations mandated by the FBI CJIS Security Policy. Reading: Work requires the ability to read technical instructions, technical specifications, trade magazines, responses to RFPs/RFQs, planning documents, policies/procedures, and documents generated by staff at a high level of comprehension. Math: Work requires the ability to perform math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra that require calculations and formulas. Writing: Work requires the ability to write interoffice memos, creation of process and procedural documentation, user manuals, staff presentations, issue papers, planning documents, and requests for proposals at a high level. Many assignments require translation of technical terms. Managerial: Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others but may provide advice/direction to an employee with less experience/skill or tenure. Policy/Decision Making: Moderate - The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. Work involving discretion is typically reviewed before finalized. Budget Responsibility: This position has no budgetary responsibility. Technical Skills: Comprehensive Application - Work requires advanced skills and knowledge in approaches and systems, which affect the design and implementation of major programs, solutions for highly complex issues, and/or processes organization-wide. Independent judgment and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively. Interpersonal/Human Relations Skills: Moderate - In addition to the sharing of information, interactions at this level may also include providing advice to others outside direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies/procedures. In many of the interactions, contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to reach agreement. Elements of persuasion may be necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas. 12 Month Objectives 30 days : Objective : Orientation & Relationship Building Familiarize with the organization's current Infrastructure operations, technologies, and team structure. Meet with stakeholders to understand their needs and manage expectations. Review current Infrastructure standards and practices against industry best practices. Identify gaps and opportunities for alignment. Integrity, Empathy, Optimism, Adaptability, Initiative, and Innovation. 60 days: Objective : Performance Monitoring and Analysis Configure and use performance monitoring tools to gather data on server utilization, storage access times, and resource consumption. Objective: Benchmarking and Gap Analysis Compare the current infrastructure performance against industry standards and organizational needs to pinpoint areas that fall short or rely on manual intervention. 12 Months: Objective : Identifying Bottlenecks and Automation Opportunities Look for high resource consumption, underperforming hardware, outdated systems, or repetitive tasks that could be streamlined through automation to reduce manual efforts. Objective: Reporting and Recommendations Create a detailed report highlighting key findings, recommending specific performance improvements, and identifying at least two manual processes that could be automated to optimize infrastructure management.
