Role Overview:The Structural Dynamics Engineer will be responsible for developing and integrating CAD, FEA, CAE, and other modeling tools to optimize and analyze methodologies for structural development. This role is critical for the design and configuration of various engineering components. Key responsibilities include:Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the conceptualization, design, and execution of technical tasks for structural development projects, including setting processes, tracking timelines, and achieving defined milestones.Develop and implement structural models, algorithms, and tools to support program objectives, ensuring alignment with overall goals.Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and finite element modeling (FEM) in various environments, conducting studies on kinematics, dynamics, and force analysis.Participate in FEA, CFD, and other engineering efforts to develop new products or modify existing designs based on updated requirements.Collaborate with other technical teams to design models and tools necessary for the success of the project. Ensure consistent communication with all technical team members.Prepare and present technical reports and progress updates to leadership and relevant stakeholders.Track performance against technical objectives and regularly update management with key performance metrics.Support ongoing and future projects by participating in the planning and development of additional programs.Required Skills and Experience:Expertise in Abaqus FEA or similar engineering tools such as MATLAB, NX, and FEA software.Hands-on experience in structural dynamics, control theory, mass properties, aerodynamics, modeling and simulation, and multi-body systems.Knowledgeable in analyzing composite and metallic structures.Advanced FEA skills including transient, fatigue, and non-linear analysis.Strong foundation in multi-disciplinary modeling and simulation for multi-body systems with structural coupling susceptibility.Background in vibration, frequency domain analysis, and reduced order modeling.Proficiency in finite element modeling tools and experience developing software in collaborative environments (e.g., GitHub practices).Ability to translate academic research into practical applications, with a track record of relevant engineering publications.Desired Skills:Experience with NASTRAN, Altair, or similar finite element software.Familiarity with Julia or MATLAB programming languages.Knowledge of fluid mechanics and aerodynamics.
