Technical Designer (Seattle, WA)Our Client: A well known American outdoor brand known for its innovative outdoor gear and clothing, blending performance and style, with a legacy of exploration and adventureDuration: 3 months (with potential to extend)Pay: $40hr on a W2Hybrid in Seattle, WA (3 days per week onsite, 2 days remote)Full Time HoursOur Client is seeking a Technical Designer that will ensure that their outdoor & athleisure products meet the company's fit, construction, and quality standards. This role collaborates closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to bring design concepts to life while maintaining brand integrity and ensuring products meet financial and customer expectations. The Technical Designer manages the technical development process, oversees sample fitting, and ensures timely delivery by adhering to calendar deadlines. Day In The Life:Product Development: Work closely with designers and merchandisers to interpret design visions and develop technical specifications for garments.Fit Sessions: Lead and manage the fitting process from initial prototypes through final production, ensuring product fit aligns with brand standards and customer expectations.Technical Packages: Create and maintain technical specifications, including construction details and material selections, using PLM systems.Collaboration: Communicate daily with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and sourcing partners to ensure smooth product development and resolve any production or quality issues.Sample Management: Track and manage the development of product samples, ensuring they meet deadlines for presentations and production approval.Vendor Management: Provide feedback on vendor performance and resolve any issues related to sample execution and fit.Trend Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, particularly in fit and styling, to enhance product development and customer satisfaction.Who You Are:5+ years of experience in technical design, garment manufacturing, and specification development.Proficiency in PLM systems and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.Experience in leading fit sessions and a deep understanding of garment construction.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
