A master's degree is a plus3+ years of experience in tooling design, preferably in the die-casting or metal-forming industryProficiency in CADCAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)Experience with CNC machining, die casting, or injection molding processesStrong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Knowledge of materials, including steel alloys, aluminum, and other metals used in toolingAbility to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering simulationsStrong analytical abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot design challenges and optimize performancePosition Responsibilities:Tooling Design: Design and develop custom die-casting molds, stamping dies, and other production tooling using CADCAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).Conceptualization: Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements, specifications, and product goals. Translate these into feasible and cost-effective tooling designsEngineering Analysis: Perform design analysis, including tolerance analysis, material selection, and stressstrain calculations, to ensure that tools are optimized for production and longevityPrototyping & Testing: Lead prototype development of tooling, perform trials, and evaluate performance. Use test results to modify and optimize designs as necessaryManufacturability: Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure the designs are optimized for production processes such as CNC machining, injection molding, or die castingProject Management: Oversee tooling design projects from concept to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.Documentation: Create detailed design documentation, technical drawings, and specifications.
