Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with mandatory expertise in Siemens NX and machine design for custom automated equipment. This is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility to work remotely part-time, while still collaborating closely with our engineering and project teams on-site. Key Responsibilities: Design custom automated equipment using Siemens NX-this is a required skill for the role. Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed mechanical drawings for manufacturing. Apply machine design principles to ensure robust, high-performance automation systems. Perform design analysis, including stress, tolerance, and interference checks to ensure manufacturability and performance standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams-electrical engineers, control engineers, and project managers-to integrate mechanical components with automation systems. Oversee the design and specification of mechanical systems, including gears, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics. Manage design revisions based on customer feedback and prototype testing results. Ensure compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and internal quality requirements. Provide technical support during the build, installation, and testing phases. Qualifications (Non-negotiable): Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3+ years of hands-on experience in machine design for custom automation or manufacturing equipment. Proficiency in Siemens NX (3D modeling, drafting, and simulation) is required-candidates without this will not be considered. Deep understanding of mechanical system design, including actuators, motors, gears, bearings, and structural components. Experience with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Preferred Skills: Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress and fatigue analysis. Knowledge of automation control systems and PLC integration. Familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
