Job ID: MNSITE-3080 Job Title: .Net Developer Location: St Paul, MN (Remote) Duration: 6+ Months Contract Description of Project The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking two full-time resources to work on a short-term database development to support the DHS being split into departments for Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) and a Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) while keeping the remaining functions in DHS. Sample Tasks •Collaborate with business analysts and developers to produce software designs and database solutions •Formulate program specifications and basic prototypes •Transform software designs and specifications into stable production systems to allow for Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) to operate as a separate Department from the Department of Human Services (DHS) •Make changes to existing data structures to allow independent use and reporting from existing systems in support of DCT becoming a stand-alone department from DHS •Make changes to existing front-end systems to allow for independent use by DCT •Test code periodically to ensure it produces the desirable results and perform debugging when necessary •Perform upgrades to make software and systems more secure and efficient •Collaborate with technical writers to create documentation for user support •Provide knowledge transfer Minimum Qualifications • Five (5) years' experience in Developer/Programmer role o A Master's degree substitutes for three years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree substitutes for two years, or an Associate's degree substitutes for one year •Two (2) engagements lasting more than six (6) months in Developer/Programmer role Desired Skills •Proven experience as a programmer or relevant role •Ability to program in languages such as .NET, HTML, C++, etc. •Excellent knowledge with relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies •A detail-oriented approach to work and excellent ability to focus on task completion •An analytical mindset and critical thinking •The ability to discover and fix errors in code •Strong communication skills
