Loading, transporting, and delivering produce to clients in a safe and timely manner. Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times. Deliver product efficiently. Call in when customers do not receive their entire order (shorts). Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, and perform pre-trip inspection. Report accidents and injuries and any damage to equipment immediately. Assist in shipping and loading trucks for afternoon routes and palletize product. Handle any customer complaints professionally. Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company. Follow all the policies as designated by the transportation department. Responsible for upkeep of vehicles at end of shift - clean cab. Work overtime if required as requested by the Supervisor. Must be able to follow California labor code 512(a) related to lunches and break policy and House of Services (HOS). Good attendance and adherence to work schedule (early morning start time), working on weekends. Perform other duties requested by the Supervisor or Manager. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES: Must be able to perform all job functions safely. Excellent customer service skills a must. Must be able to operate a manual Commercial vehicle. Must be able to work schedule dispatch/assigned times. Conducting Safety Inspections Pre/Post Trip Inspections. Good understanding of driving rules and regulations. Able to lift up to 75 lbs. Route - Multi-stop experience. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a "clean" driving record (Including: No single DUI). Must have basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide). Minimum of 1 year driving continuous experience for a previous employer. Proven ability to communicate articulately in English and perform simple arithmetic. Must pass all pre-employment requirements. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and to the safety regulations. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 2 years local food or beverage delivery experience. Pallet breakdown and hand cart delivery experience. Previous experience in the foodservice industry. Lift and move cases (selecting product and placing on a pallet) ranging in weight up to 75 lbs continuously to and from heights ranging from floor to knee, waist, shoulder, and overhead. Use hands and fingers to peel and stick labels on cases. Handle and feel objects and/or equipment controls; reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to talk and hear; must be able to hear warning horns on moving machinery and equipment. Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close and distance vision, depth perception, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
