About us National Grid is hiring an Associate Engineer for our interactive and team-oriented MA North division Gas Engineering Design team in Waltham, MA. Job Purpose We develop and manage the design and engineering for pipeline projects within the New England North distribution territory. We are a high-performing team made up of civil and mechanical engineers of all skill and experience levels and are positioned under the supervision and mentorship of Professional Engineers. Key Accountabilities Develop and coordinate designs for natural gas engineering projects to improve and grow our distribution system. Assess project scopes to identify local requirements and risks prior to design to ensure a complete, high quality and safe project outcome. Manage multiple projects and prioritize work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Design and construction drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with company and industry standards. Manage external engineering design firms and ensure their designs are completed in accordance with company and industry standards. Review construction standard operating procedures to ensure they are completed in accordance with company and industry standards. Qualifications ABET-accredited B.S. Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required. 1+ years in a civil or mechanical engineering role preferred. Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design products preferred. Experience using ArcGIS software preferred. EIT or ability to obtain within one year required. Valid driver's license required.
