Job Description: Mechanical design - is looking for an ideal candidate with experience in automation and designing robot risers, EOAT (End of Arm Tools), guarding, guides, escapements, conveyor systems and complete layouts. As well as, experience doing reach studies in SolidWorks to determine correct size robot for reach and payload. Salary: $80k - $110k (minimal flex) Employee Benefits: 401k, Medical/Dental Individual/Family, Retention Bonus, Paid Vacation, Profit-Sharing, Requirements Bachelor's degree in related field 2 years designing in SolidWorks/AutoCAD (current version 2023) 2 years previous robotic automation experience (strongly preferred) Creating detail drawings & BOM's Individual part drawings with appropriate tolerances Sheet metal drawings Weldment drawings and weld callouts Assembly drawings System layout and installation drawings Pneumatic design experience Valve selection (dependent on application and sizing, ie: single vs double solenoid, closed center, PO check valves) Valve manifold selection - including manifolds with expandable I/O Filter / Regulator sizing Pneumatics schematics - including drawings, sizing, system function Cylinder sizing Select and work with vendors for purchase of mechanical components Robot Experience Appropriate sizing and reach of robot per application Understanding of end effector mounting and loading Cable solution experience Negotiate pricing and delivery to make on time delivery of fabricated and purchased components Familiarity and understanding of sensors & cables Photo-eyes (diffuse, retro-reflective, thru-beam) Prox Switches Time of Flight Sensors Lead meetings for mechanical design Concept review Customer kickoff Internal design review Customer final review Electrical design and controls handoff Shop assembly handoff Visit customer sites to evaluate new projects and create concept drawings to support sales Full understanding of Microsoft suite Outlook Word Excel Location: Franklin, WI The job will be non-repetitive in nature with 6-10 design projects per year The estimated job categories are: • 50% Mechanical Design • 20% Concept Drawings for sales • 20% Directing mechanical assembly • 5% Onsite installation support • 5% Misc. The estimated travel for the position will be around 5%. Standard Office Hours: 8am-4pm, on-site Limited weekend work may be required.
