This position will be stationed in Fort Barfoot/Blackstone, VA (formerly Fort Pickett) location (Part-time, 1-day/week on Fridays). Essential Functions & Responsibilities / Description Mentor students based on previous and recent experience carrying out diplomatic work at a U.S. diplomatic mission overseas Identify goals and support role players in order to facilitate FACT training planning and program development processes Organize participants and materials for each program module and ensure that all participants understand their roles Ensure that all materials and resources are made available at the time of the execution of the program Document attendance and participation and provide social skills instructions to attendees Engage participants by educating them about the key aspects of the program, according to specified instructions Liaise with key contacts ensuring that all logistics are maintained in an accurate and proper fashion Facilitate the planning, coordination, and on-site execution in the areas of program projects, initiatives, and activities Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project support plans and document client progress notes Provide support and direction to program officers aimed at assisting them in carrying out the logistics of each project module Minimum Qualifications Must be a US Citizen Must have 5 years of relevant experience Must have sufficient Department of State (DoS) experience Must have a proven record of accomplishment in experiential, scenario-based adult training facilitation Possess background and/or experience living and working in various designated regions Preferred Qualifications Advanced academic degree A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience Previous and recent experience carrying out diplomatic work at a U.S. diplomatic mission overseas, preferably one with significant DoS personnel Preference to individuals who have served at the Senior Foreign Service level in positions such as Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission, Charg d'affaires, or Principal Officer SSI is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer that treats all employees and applicants equally without discrimination because of race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, national origin, genetic information, disability, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.
