Assistant Branch Manager - Bethalto, IL Bethalto, IL Liberty Bank, a United Community Bank, is in search of an Assistant Branch Manager for the Bethalto, IL location. While providing and ensuring exemplary customer service is being provided, assist the Branch Manager in the overall management of the branch and ensure operational and branch standards are met. Assists in supporting the efforts to maximize revenue, sales, customer satisfaction and minimize operational losses. Also responsible for strengthening existing customer relationships and minimizing customer loss. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Professionally greet all customers upon entry to maintain a welcoming and helpful environment Assist with the administration of bank policies, procedures and regulations to maintain effective branch operations and minimize risk to the bank Assist with the management, scheduling and designation of daily activities for teller and personal banker staff Accurately processing customer transactions, including, but not limited to counting cash, accepting deposits, and processing withdrawal requests Assisting customers with account inquiries by providing information, resolving issues and identifying and correcting problems Counsel customers with more complex account transactions Provide on the job training to teller staff on a continual basis Distribute written and oral instructions to teller staff regarding teller operations as necessary Make recommendations regarding the hiring, discipline, promotion, transfer and termination of teller staff as necessary Assist with conducting regular staff meetings to distribute information, coach teller staff, review problems, answer questions, and provide updates on policies and procedures Assisting other staff members by approving customer transactions (override capability) Assist teller staff with issues of compliance and regulatory standards Assist teller staff in locating cash discrepancies, managing unusual transactions, and answering customer questions Identifying customer needs in order to appropriately recommend bank products and services as well as effectively communicating the benefits to both customers and non-customers, while participating in sales/referral campaigns and contributing to the achievement of branch goals File CTR's (Currency Transaction Report) as required Participate in community events Participate and encourage CRA efforts Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels by proactively participating and contributing to a positive work environment, controlling emotions and temperament, and exhibiting courteous, respectful, and professional behavior at all times Adhere to and ensure staff are following all cash handling, teller drawer and dual control policies and procedures Maintain familiarity with and ensure staff are familiar with bank products and services Maintain familiarity with and ensure staff are familiar with all regulatory standards Maintain familiarity with and ensure staff uphold all Bank policies and procedures including policies and procedures including but not limited to Secrecy Act, OFAC, Check Cashing, Teller Guidelines Complete all training requirements as assigned and ensure all teller staff are completing assigned trainings Performs other related duties as assigned* Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Employees are expected to remain at work for their entire daily schedule. Late arrival, early departure or other absences should be avoided. Scheduled shifts are typically 8 hours with some weekend hours required. A 1-hour lunch will be provided if all applicable conditions are met. Education, Experience, Skills and Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent 3-5 years of previous banking experience preferred 1-3 years of experience in supervisory setting preferred Previous cash handling experience preferred Previous customer service experience preferred Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and calculate figures and amounts Strong attention to detail and accuracy Problem Solving/Analysis skills Ability to manage and execute more than one task at a time Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to independently perform duties, establish priorities and meet deadlines with limited supervision Ability to adhere to safety and compliance regulations and procedures Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and coworkers Ability to promote and explain the benefits of bank products and services and answer customer questions regarding these products and services Ability to exercise sound judgement in a decision-making capacity that is consistent with established policies, procedures and business practices Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and comprehend the level of confidentiality that comes along with the position and protecting employee's, customer's and bank information. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office products, electronic mail, internet software as well as other various software programs used in the course of day-to-day business. Individual should also be able to effectively and efficiently enter data into various software programs utilized in the course of day-to-day business activities. Previous experience with bank related software programs is preferred. Equipment: This position generally uses office and banking equipment throughout the course of conducting day-to-day business such as but not limited to computer, keyboard, mouse, scanner, phone, calculator, fax machine, copy machine, cash counter, coin machine, check imaging machine, drive thru tubes and drawers, vault and ATM.
