Job: Controls Engineer Location: Honey Brook, PA Type: Fulltime, On-Site General Job Description We are design and build manufacturer of custom industrial process equipment. We manufacture a several products with PLC controlled as well as a wide variety of specialty machines requiring PLC controls. Our primary PLC platforms are Allen Bradley Compact Logix and Mitsubishi FX. The role of a Controls Engineer will be to take industrial automation projects from an initial kick-off meeting to working completion through all the stages of design & configuration, also when requested, be able to support existing customers by working alongside with the service team, and occasionally support the shop builders & sales with electrical questions. Duties and Responsibilities: Select hardware to meet job or customer's specifications Design, develop and maintain PLC based control systems programs Create and maintain design documentation, program documentation, test/validation documentation, program revision control, and user manuals Assist Product Managers, Engineers, Installation Technicians, Service Technicians, and Customer Maintenance Technicians with system validation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics. In charge of drawings, diagrams, design documents, hardware part numbers, programs, and manuals documentation related to, or supporting, the PLC control system. Responsible for the quality of the control system as it relates to fulfilment of job specifications, FRS, and all applicable codes and standards. Skills/Qualifications Able to read drawings, PNID, and wiring diagrams, and understand basic installation protocols Understand Ladder logic, RS Logix 500 & 5000, and PanelView / PanelView+ programming Knowledge of technical and FRS documentation Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Applications and AutoCAD Design Software Knowledge or willing to learn Mitsubishi FX programming, cGMP validation and programming protocols, pneumatic controls, autoclave function, and SCADA interface design Strong Technical Writing Skills Electrical Drawings (wiring, panels, etc.) Educational/Physical Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Related Degree Intuitive approach to programming and HMI layout Travel will be required (typically between 20% - 25%)
