Position Overview (Summary/Objective): You will benefit from working side by side with a talented and experienced group of professionals. Day to day activities can involve significant interaction with various functional groups such as Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineering and Manufacturing, allowing for additional broad learning opportunities. From designing your own tools, performing the supporting analysis, writing assembly procedures, leading the team in hardware assembly and test, presenting to the team and the customer, through to delivery. Responsibilities: As a Manufacturing Engineering, you will be supporting the detail design, analysis, integration and test of advanced optical and electro-mechanical systems for state-of-the-art military (ground, airborne, space) systems. You'll be responsible for: Design, detailing, and the analysis of tooling and/or test fixtures, coordinating engineering changes, writing assembly procedures, leading/supporting assembly and test, compiling and presenting designs and analysis to the engineering teams. Assisting in hands-on floor work. Assist with 3D printing of tooling and flight simulated parts. Understand optical systems, the mounting and alignment of optics, and troubleshooting opto-mechanical systems. Must have a profound ability and fidelity in the use of hand tools, torque wrenches, multi-meter, and measurement equipment as it relates to flight hardware. Familiar with building flight hardware, understand cleanliness requirements, and be cognizant of MIL Specs, and ISO. Ability to work in a clean room environment. Must have suitable verbal, presentation, and technical writing abilities Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience in mechanical assembly and a good knowledge of hand tools, hardware, and assembly practices. Experience in opto-mechanical fabrication, assembly and alignment of high-fidelity space systems desired. Experience in being part of an assembly/integration team. Knowledge of CAD modeling (PTC CREO4 preferred, Solidworks acceptable). Familiarity of PTC/Simulate, MathCAD or other analysis packages. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power point. Experience and ability in the preparation of technical reports and presentations. Understanding of machine shop processes, machine design, strength of materials, hardware, and hand tools. Pay Range: $80-90K Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
