Principal Assistant Available Title(s): 1113-YN_ADMINPRO - Principal Assistant Business Title: Principal Assistant Employee Type: Admin. Professional Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Principal Assistant position serves as the principal advisor to the Chair of the Department of Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textiles (AMDT) and serves as the primary contact for operational and administrative activities for the Department. This position is responsible to provide administrative, managerial, fiscal, personnel, and leadership for staff support, including delegated authority to make commitments affecting the management and operations. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and decision-making in handling complex and confidential issues, based a broad knowledge of WSU policies and procedures. Required Qualifications: • A Bachelor's degree in business administration or other relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible management work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. • Demonstrated knowledge and skill proficiency of financial, administrative systems or similar systems. Preferred Qualifications: • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel Word, PowerPoint), Workday, • Knowledge of WSU Business Policies and Procedures. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
