JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Anderson Lab within the UW-Madison Center for Genomic Science Innovation (CGSI) and the Department of Medical Genetics seeks an ambitious and highly motivated Data Infrastructure Technologist III to support research activities. The lab is housed within the CGSI, which serves as a vibrant and collegial environment for inclusive and collaborative science. The Center and the University are located in Madison, WI, which is frequently voted among the best places to live. The position described here is to oversee data management and infrastructure assemblage for a Tribal Data Repository (TDR) as part of a large team composed of three other research institutions. This individual will oversee construction of both a primary storage space off-site and a secondary storage site at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for this newly established TDR by the National Institutes of Health to manage all Tribal data linked to COVID through the Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) program. More specifically, this person will work with a collaborating group to build a data storage system and access site with the primary TDR site and ensure data replication at the secondary site. Job responsibilities include installation of a platform at the primary site, building out data transfer agreements, validating data replication with the primary site, overseeing transfer operations to the secondary storage site, and data harmonization activities. Responsibilities: Delivers comprehensive and strategically significant enterprise data center infrastructure support including the development, coordination, and management of physical capacity systems, security systems, networking, operational workflow, and stakeholder relationships across multiple institutional domains. Anticipates issues, devises resolution methodology, and provides long term and non-routine assistance to ensure subsystems and infrastructure function together and business needs are met.
