The company is a widely respected EPC firm that specializes in design, engineering, and project management consulting. The company has been providing infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the United States for more than 50 years. How will you contribute to the team? Oversight and coordination of Mechanical subcontractor activities in an operational industrial facility performing renovations and build outs on existing structures. Promotion of a Beyond Zero safety culture and compliance with project and OSHA safety requirements. Interface between engineering and construction operations for resolution of technical issues related to all disciplines. Monitor the activities of contractors and subcontractors performing craftwork, ensuring compliance with project quality, safety, and security requirements. Assist the Contractor(s) in directing daily work activities, coordinating the placement and movement of onsite equipment and material. Ensure that all Contractor personnel are trained on and aware of specifications and work procedures and are utilized to ensure optimal efficiency. Assume direct responsibility to ensure that all work performed by the Contractors is in accordance with contractual requirements and meets all drawings and specifications. Assist Contractors in maintaining effective schedule and cost control. Planning of all installations and deliveries associated with the assigned project. Provide timely and complete resolution to technical questions and requests for information Assist in developing and maintaining project schedule. Ensure applicable Quality Assurance programs are implemented and followed. Review project proposal and pertinent documents with project team Determine the most cost-effective construction methods and use of personnel, material, equipment and subcontractors Review and approve subcontractor selections and invoicing Coordinate construction activities with the owner, subcontractors and Company personnel Manage project staff, including assigned support staff, superintendents, project general foreman, and assistants Promote, enforce and establish safety as a priority as part of the Company's management philosophy Ensure that management is accurately and fully informed of project costs as compared to budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports Coordinate and provide direction for the budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost and construction functions as they relate to the completion of the project. Initiate, establish and maintain working relationships with owner, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to facilitate construction activities Organize, conduct and represent the company at project coordination meetings at regular agreed upon intervals. Review and approve subcontractor, vendor payment applications and miscellaneous invoices Execute change orders (proposals) to owners, design team, subcontractors and others, and prepare revisions to original budget as a result of changes and revisions to work. Ensure timely project completion through project scheduling, expediting of material deliveries and the management of material and document submittals/approvals. Lead and participate in regularly schedule project staff meetings Manage Closeout process Enforce and adhere to all Policies and Processes as it relates to this position Actively participates on internal team(s) that focuses on continuous improvement of the business. What will you contribute? 10 to 15 years of experience managing large mechanical construction projects Demonstrated success in management of construction projects Possess working knowledge of all projects plans, specifications, Owner Contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals and all other project related documents and maintain a complete and accurate set of as-built drawings Estimating experience a plus Experience in a management role over mechanical subcontractors on an industrial facility projects required. Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. (Relevant project experience may substitute for a degree) Basic computer and word processing skills required. This is a construction project and the work will take place outdoors in potentially harsh conditions; the ability to withstand such is a requirement. Ability to walk the site regularly and to climb stairs and ladders to inspect work is also a requirement. Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency Self-motivated with skills to motivate others Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills OSHA 30 certification Korean speaker is heavily preferred.
