Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and continuously improving manufacturing processes to support production goals. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the development of manufacturing processes and systems to support production goals. Design and/or identify new equipment to meet demand and capacity requirements for future growth. Collect data and apply engineering principles to improve, optimize, and streamline production processes. Optimize existing manufacturing equipment to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Create applicable workflow, standard operating procedures, and other related documentation. Collaborate and work cross-functionally with production and maintenance teams on root-cause analysis and implementation of solutions. Monitor equipment updates and general external best practices. Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to design tools/jigs. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of production principles and manufacturing environments. Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment. Interpret, translate, and create engineering designs and documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts to support troubleshooting and implementing solutions in collaboration with production and maintenance. Strong proficiency with CAD software. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong project management and organizational skills. Demonstrated can-do, will-do approach. Excellent time management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. Nice-to-have Skills and Abilities: Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and evaluating issues in electrical designs with the purpose of improving equipment performance. Experience with design, fabrication, and repair of high/low voltage electrical systems in an industrial setting. Demonstrable knowledge of safe workmanship and OSHA compliance of electrical systems. Experience programming and configuring HMI systems, improving human/machine interface efficiency. Experience with programming languages such as SQL or similar database analysis tools Experience with Fusion 360. Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or other material handling equipment. Familiarity with industry regulations and standards to ensure processes comply with safety, environmental, and quality requirements. Experience with new NPI and setting up new production facilities. Familiarity with quality control principles. Experience with creating and implementing quality control measures. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Chemical familiarity is a plus. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field required. At least 2 years of applicable experience required. Work Environment and Physical Demands: Periods of working on feet and using tools while evaluating manufacturing equipment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required for safety.
