Cedarbrook Senior Care & Rehab is seeking Part-Time Maintenance Mechanic for its Skilled Nursing Facility in Fountain Hill 2p-10p. Fountain Hill: 2p-10p (32 hr/week, every other weekend and holiday rotation) 3-11 Shift differential and weekend differential GENERAL DEFINITION: This is skilled maintenance and repair work, at the full performance level, personally performing general maintenance and effecting repairs to machinery, equipment, and related facilities. A position in this class works in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other areas, for tasks other than those subject to building code requirements. Work includes operation of motor vehicles and power equipment and may include work at higher or lower-skill levels on an incidental basis. A position in this class may oversee the work of lower-level, semi-skilled positions, but is differentiated from closely related classes by the greater skill level of assignments and independent responsibility for work accomplishment. A position in this class reports directly to a higher-level trades or technical supervisory position. TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative Only) Services, removes, repairs, replaces, tests and operates specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, kitchen equipment, voting machines, and general equipment such as door closers, locks, mowers, lights, blowers, and mechanical tools; makes repairs to structural components of various facilities such as buildings, park structures, pavement, and bridges; services, removes, repairs and replaces doors, windows, walls and partitions, masonry and related elements. Receives job orders or notices of malfunction; inspects and tests item, mechanism or structural component; identifies source of problem or other repair needed; determines materials needed for jobs, checking against supplies; orders and receives supplies and equipment for each job; coordinates schedule for job performance, including the shutoff of power, with other building personnel and those in affected area; inspects finished job for proper operation of item and conformance to accepted standards; keeps records of jobs performed, materials used and related information; may instruct and oversee the work of other personnel providing assistance with jobs. Drives trucks of various sizes to haul gravel, cement, brush or other materials; operates backhoes, forklifts, spray rigs, air compressors and jack hammers, and similar maintenance or construction equipment, including cutting and welding equipment; provides preventive maintenance for and repairs of such equipment and vehicles. Performs other work as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of principles, practices, methods and techniques commonly employed in mechanical and structural maintenance and repair work. Thorough knowledge of the tools, materials, and safety precautions of mechanical and structural maintenance and repair work. Ability to operate motor vehicles of various sizes and maintenance and construction equipment. Ability to determine time, materials and equipment required to complete assigned jobs. Ability to instruct and oversee the efforts of other personnel. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to keep records of activities. Ability to lift, carry and maneuver into position a variety of heavy and/or unwieldy tools and materials. Ability to work in close proximity to nursing facility patients, families and visitors, if required by work assignment. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Education equivalent to completion of 12th grade. 2-3 years' experience in equipment & facility maintenance or repair work. Any equivalent combination of training & experience which has provided the knowledge, skills & abilities cited above. possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's licensed issued by the Commonwealth of PA.
