Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs a Mechanical Engineer in Machine Design, you would work in our Downers Grove, Illinois office and your primary responsibilities would include:Lead the design and release of mechanical projectsApply sound engineering and machine design principles to design custom engineered equipmentCreate/modify/update all mechanical drawings and BOM'sAnalyze existing designs and provide recommendations for improvementsMentor other engineers and designers on best practices for machine designPerform independent site inspections and supervise equipment installationParticipate in brainstorming and design reviewsDeliver projects on time and within budgetWork with shop assembly personnel in troubleshooting & debugging of equipmentAssist in the checking of drawings and analyze tolerance stack upsAssist in developing engineering and drafting standardsIssue and complete ECO'sRequirementsBS in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Degree is not required)5 to 10 years' experience designing custom industrial equipmentDriven and ambitious personality with attention to detailUnderstanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding and general fabricationMachining/fabrication background is a plusField experience, customer site audits and experience supervising installations is a plusStrong CAD 2D and 3D proficiency required, Inventor is preferredExperience with GD&T is preferredFEA experience is a plus15% availability for travel, including some weekends and international opportunitiesSalary and Benefits$85,000 - 100,000 (Salary commensurate with experience)Benefits including health insurance, dental insurance, vision, life/LTD/AD&D insurance, 401k match, 10 paid holidays, 10 vacation days and 5 sick daysThe chance to make an impact with a growing company Meet Your RecruiterRic DelgadoLead Technical RecruiterRic Delgado is a seasoned Principal Recruiter primarily focusing on the Automation Division at Sterling.
