Advantage Technical is seeking Maintenance Technician for our client onsite in Irvine, CA! Employment type : Long term contract with the probability of conversion! Location : (1562 Reynolds Ave. Irvine, CA 92614 ) Pay : $27 per hour Shift : Ideal candidate will be flexible for 8 hour shifts between the hours of 6am-5pm Pacific, Monday - Friday. Additional flexibility may be needed if coverage is lacking on other shifts. Facility is 24/5. Experience : Building medical device machines and maintenance. Minimum 1 year relevant experience, 2+ preferred Needs a broad knowledge of tools and good mechanical aptitude Must also be capable of typing and writing at a somewhat technical level for documentation. (In addition to reading and understanding directions, and basic computer proficiency.) Should have a history of being punctual, and working in a safety-oriented environment. They don't need prior experience with any specific tool. In this role, they will be using tools such as measurement tools, calipers, hex drivers, laser welders, laser engravers, or drills. They will be responsible for maintenance and fixes for an in-house machine within the Crimping department. They are working on crimping machines that crimp a softer metal onto a unique wire for the Omnipods. The machine does small, delicate, and detailed work. Daily responsibilities include shift handoff communication, using a laptop, updating a program regarding down machines, responding to issues with the machines, following clear escalation procedures, filling out machine logs, working with shift leads, communicating problems, documenting resolutions, using tools. Medical industry experience would be a huge plus, but not at all required. Has had successful hires with mechanical experience from a variety of industries, including automotive. Potential for conversion if performance is strong. (Not guaranteed currently.) Pay rate $27/hr. If converted, would receive a differential for 2nd and 3rd shift hours. Interviews will be conducted with the manager via video (Teams) and then onsite for finalists. This is an 8-hour rotating shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of highly automated and advanced manufacturing equipment necessary to produce our signature product. This individual will be trained and cross-trained to run and operate machines, trouble shoot, root cause and repair issues across a variety of technologies including laser welding, mechanical swaging, printed circuit board (PCB) handling and testing, metal stamping and bending, and high-speed discrete component assembly. In addition to equipment repair and maintenance, this individual will be responsible for the product quality performance of the equipment and basic machine troubleshooting in the event of faults and machine stops. This position requires mechanical aptitude, technical ability, machine troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: Follow all policies and procedures including safety and quality standards. Perform equipment setup, operation, testing, repair, and weekly preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency. These tasks must be completed under minimal supervision. Diagnose and repair electromechanical systems on equipment. Executes equipment and safety inspections, and generates emergency, corrective, and/or preventative work orders as needed. Excellent attention to detail, good organization, and capable of working independently with minimal instruction. Perform various equipment preventive maintenance tasks (i.e., cleaning, inspection, and lubrication) while working with small, machined parts. Thoroughly document maintenance activity using the maintenance database, adequately communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, group message boards, etc.) Independently monitor, communicate, and execute preventative maintenance schedules. Collaborate with manufacturing and corporate representatives to help resolve complex quality, process, or safety defects. Troubleshoot and identify potential solutions for mechanical errors, safety issues, or general operating inefficiencies with assembly production processes. Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change over. Create standard work procedures for the setup and maintenance of assembly equipment. Utilize and update basic databases to reflect corrective actions taken and materials consumed and analyze data to be able to root cause issues. Direct hands-on involvement in installation, start-up, qualification, and debugging of new automation, including wiring and electrical troubleshooting. Assist in day-to-day support of operators, adjustments, setups, and change over. Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines. This is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to take on project work assigned as an individual contributor, or as a participant on cross functional teams, as well as be able to utilize tools to inspect, repair and maintain equipment. Education and Experience: Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent At least 1-3 years of experience working with hand tools on manufacturing equipment, Medical, HVAC, Automotive, etc. executing repair and maintenance activities. Basic computer skills and use of MS Office applications. Written and verbal English communication skills. Preferred Skills and Competencies: Experience working, debugging, and/or maintaining automated equipment. Experience working with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Mechanical Aptitude - Knowledge of and experience with automated machines and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance. Familiar with specific manufacturing processes such as crimping, mechanical swaging, laser welding, electronic controls, and precise component assembly. Familiar with typical sensors on automated equipment including pressure switches, inductive sensors, photoelectric sensors, reed switches, and load cells. Experience with high-speed filming equipment Technical knowledge of cam driven linkages, discrete component assembly and automation Physical Requirements (if applicable): Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift. Required to reach above shoulder frequently and below waist occasionally. Required to push and pull. Ability to lift 35lbs occasionally, 5-20lbs frequently. Ability to work in tight spaces. Able to work any shift. The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
