This role interacts with several APEX teams, including Billing, Accounting, Treasury, Client Service, Operations, Compliance, and Technology. The senior level contributor must be a critical thinker, analytical, energetic, and possess strong attention to detail. Specifically, the senior level individual contributor is expected to manage larger and/or more complex daily tasks, independently solve complex problems on behalf of themselves and other team members, help recommend and implement ideas that improve the overall group performance, train other team members and perform supervisory review of reporting and/or processes. The ideal candidate will have experience in broker-dealer accounting and broker-dealer operations. Duties/Responsibilities Take an active role in the calculation of the 15c3-3 weekly reserve computation, including completing schedules, researching issues that arise, and taking the lead role in the reserve review meeting. Prepare the 15c3-1 monthly FOCUS report. Calculate capital charges, including haircuts, margin calls, and fails to deliver/receive, to arrive at net capital. Lead accounting management through a review of the computation. Assist with the monthly accounting close, particularly as it relates to FOCUS related items, including customer balances, stock borrow/stock loan, and fails to deliver/receive. Maintain reconciliations of balance sheet accounts for review in monthly close meeting. Calculate daily segregation requirements of the futures business according to Title 17 of the CFTC. Take an active role in our annual financial statement audit and our regulatory examinations from FINRA, SEC, and NFA. Prepare quarterly filings such as Supplemental Statement of Income and FORM Custody. Prepare the firm's SIPC assessment calculations. Drive process improvement. Continually search for more efficient and innovative methods of performing responsibilities through automation while maintaining a high level of standards in reporting to regulators. Calculate the firm's estimated net capital on a daily basis. Maintain a high level of knowledge of the customer protection rule and net capital rule and be able to apply these rules effectively. Stay current on rule changes and updates. Research rules to address questions and inquiries from Operations and other groups within the firm. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent experience 4+ years of experience in broker-dealer regulatory reporting or broker-dealer operations. General ledger experience. Required/Skills Abilities Working knowledge of SEC rule 15c3-1 and SEC rule 15c3-3. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills and the ability to communicate constructively within the department and the firm Excellent attention to detail and an exceptionally high degree of initiative/adaptability Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment Ability to work with numerous and conflicting deadlines Ability to exercise independent judgment Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems Proficient in Microsoft 365 Other Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with futures industry regulatory reporting Experience using NetSuite accounting system Intermediate to Advanced Excel abilities FINRA Series 27, 7 or 99 is a plus Work Environment This role operates in an office environment. Salary Range $86,000-$107,500 The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
