A SALT Senior provides critical assistance in addressing clients' state and local tax issues. While the job entails much in the way of building and manipulating Excel models and researching and communicating (both written and orally) about SALT matters, we are ultimately looking for someone who is passionate about tax and passionate about building a truly excellent SALT practice along with us. Requirements : Develop effective working relationships with clients and colleagues Collaborate with others to provide quality service to clients Communicate professionally with clients under supervision of managers and seniors Translate verbose tax laws and regulations into digestible, client-facing content Research state and local tax laws, regulations, or other authoritative guidance Calculate estimated state tax exposure using Excel Provide accurate research and write technical memorandum in a concise, analytical format Build and maintain positive relationships across the firm Support interns and non-state tax staff in professional development Maintain open communication with management regarding projects' progress and deadlines Utilizes computer applications and relevant technology effectively Qualifications : Senior level knowledge of state taxation Undergraduate degree required, CPA or JD preferred Ideally, intermediate (or greater) skillset with Microsoft Excel Excellent writing and verbal communication skills Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence Time management, organizational and prioritization skills Ability to effectively manage multiple engagements simultaneously Bennett Thrasher is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
