Job Responsibilities With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina. This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Waccamaw Center for Mental Health, 501 Nelson Blvd, Kingstree, SC 29556. T HIS POSITION IS REPOSTED *** Previous applicants are still under consideration and do not need to reapply*** Under direct supervision performs a variety of administrative duties involved in the daily operation of the Williamsburg County, Kingstree clinic of the Waccamaw Center of Mental Health, a comprehensive community mental health center. Applies written and/or unwritten policies to perform various tasks that have a significant impact on the daily operations of this facility. Functions as office receptionist, greeting and directing consumers and visitors. Notifies clinicians and physicians of patient arrival. Answers and directors incoming telephone calls. Schedules and reschedules appointments in the Electronic Medical Record and scheduling systems. Prints medical schedules, receives and disburses correspondence and pertinent information. Processes daily Medicaid eligibility reports. Acts as office cashier accessing charges, receipting and cash verifications. Updates consumer information and financial reviews in Electronic Medical Record system and Clinical Information System. Collects and verifies pertinent client information and insurances. Updates collected information into appropriate systems. Imports scanned information into consumer EMR records. Processes adult, children and adolescent intakes into EMR systems. Maintains documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, SCDMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, HIPAA, Corporate Compliance and CARF Standards. Knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to deal effectively with the public in handling inquires and communication information. General knowledge of office practices and use of judgmental discretion. The ability to use general office equipment such as multi-line telephone system, scheduling software, computer use, copier machine with scanning and faxing abilities. Must be able to lift, bend, sit and stand. Lifting will include 20 pounds. Other duties as assigned by Executive Director and Clinic Director. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Agency Minimum Requirements: High school diploma and 2 years clinical experience or associates degree in secretarial science or other related field, or 3 years clerical experience. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
