Assistant Production Manager Reporting to: Production Manager Direct Reports: Sloomoo Institute Shift Leads + Sloomoo Institute Production staff. We are an art-inspired, immersive haven of color, design and joy. Launched in NYC in late October of 2019, Sloomoo Institute has been an enormous success, attracting over 1 million guests and billions of media impressions. We have four locations and a fifth opening in LA in the late summer. Even more, slime play is known to support stress relief as much as it does your imagination! Position Summary The Assistant Productions Manager at Sloomoo Institute plays a pivotal role in the daily operation and management of our Production facility. This role focuses on creating an inclusive culture, ensuring a warm welcome for guests, volunteers, and staff. The Assistant Production Manager possesses strong people management and project management skills, knowing when to delegate and when to take ownership. A positive and empowering attitude, along with effective communication, is essential to maintain high standards across Production. Flexibility and proactive problem-solving are key qualities for this role. Also responsible for tracking and managing various Sloomoo items, such as slime ingredients, charms, scents, and colors. This role ensures the smooth running of our day-to-day operations by managing a 90-day quarterly lead calendar and maintaining accurate inventory. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the Production Manager to oversee Production operations, line management, and product creation. Maintain safety, organization, and cleanliness standards in Production. Partner with front-of-house (FOH) management to seamlessly execute guest-facing operations. Motivate and challenge the Production team to enhance productivity and quality. Manage product production in alignment with visitor volume and store sales, as directed by the Managers. Work with the Production manager to ensure inventory and production needs are met. Collaborate with the Production and Experience Managers to ensure adequate inventory levels. Cultivate strong working relationships with relevant teams. Support the training of Production staff to ensure versatility and proficiency across different Production stations. Uphold quality control procedures throughout each shift. Drive workflow and ensure timely product completion by motivating Production staff. Collaborate with the inventory team to optimize workspace efficiency. Take ownership of quality control management during assigned shifts. Foster a fun and productive environment, meeting operational goals. Maintain healthy labor-to-production costs in coordination with Production Managers. Minimize daily product wastage. Ensure inbound shipments are received within 24 hours. Maintain weekly accurate inventory counts and reports to the Production Manager. Receive shipments from the warehouse weekly. Create a robust system for counting and ordering. Collaborate with Procurement to maintain accurate stock levels at the warehouse and minimize pallet counts. Swiftly identifying solutions to address guest or employee issues. Responding promptly to changes and challenges with the optimal guest/employee experience in mind. Fostering a team environment where slimemakers are cross-trained and capable of leading any task. Reporting issues, including written incident reports at the end of shifts. Leading by example and setting expectations through actions. Demonstrating awareness of team needs by providing training, support, and breaks when necessary. Prioritizing safety and quality as the top concerns. Ensuring a fun and engaging atmosphere for all. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of productivity and line management experience, preferably in a similar field (e.g., food & beverage preparation, inventory management). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Slack, and Project Management Systems. Experience in product manufacturing, forecasting, supply chain, and inventory management. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Diplomatic yet firm approach when engaging with colleagues. Outstanding communication skills, fostering positive working relationships.
