Job Responsibilities With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina. This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Spartanburg Office, 250 Dewey Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303 Under general supervision, provides leadership and supports the development, implementation, and evaluation activities of family peer support. Implements program service and activities, including training, communication and information dissemination. Effectively provides and coordinates services for families throughout catchment area. Facilitates meetings and outreach/engagement efforts. works collaboratively with program staff to achieve objective and performance measures of grant initiatives. Work with the identified communities to implement parent/family peer support services, parent leadership within agencies that serve families and family leadership within the system of care. Works with family engagement team coordinated care providers. Work with project local site partners to establish family engagement and peer support development strategies as well as increasing a family voice within participating agencies and the system of care. Develop and deliver educational trainings to providers regarding effective family engagement and creating organizational cultures that support family -guided and family - directed involvement and collaboration. Minimum and Additional Requirements State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and relevant human services or social services experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required experience. Must be either a current or former patient of Mental Health. Family Peer support Certification preferred. Per Requirements of SAMHSA grant, must have lived experience with a mental illness of a family member and have family mental health services.
