QA/QC Lab Technician We are pleased to recruit for a company whose corporate purpose is to create chemistry for a sustainable future and has been doing so for 150 years. Their products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, ensuring nutrition and improving quality of life. Our client is expanding and seeking a QA/QC Technician in Ames, IA. The QC Laboratory Technician ensures the quality of products by performing physical and chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process and finished products in support of the manufacturing process. Responsibilities: • Analyze routine raw material, in-process, and finished good samples using various laboratory techniques including High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), density meter, viscometer, etc. • Provide timely and accurate documentation of all analytical data according to Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and escalate Out-of-Spec materials to QC Lab Supervisor for data review. • Aid in management of inventory of consumables such as HPLC columns, spare parts, reference standards, and control samples. • Complete routine troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment as well as identify and implement process improvement in laboratory functions. • Handle and maintain Hazardous and Nonhazardous Waste from Lab testing and Equipment per the site guidelines and strictly adhere to established quality, safety and environmental standards. Requirements: • Previous Quality Control Laboratory experience • High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) • Gas Chromatography Must have a valid driver's license and current state required minimum vehicle insurance coverage to drive onto Client and Company property Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry OR Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 1 year of experience with wet chemistry lab techniques. Location: Ames, IA 50010 Pay Rate: The pay range for this position is $23.00 - 24.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location. Work Schedule: Hours are 40 / week but it is a M-TH - 10 hr shift schedule. 6am to ~4:30pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
